MOGADISHU (HOL) ---A suicide car bomber killed at least 20 people when he rammed his explosives-laden vehicle into the wall of the hotel, police said.
Somali authorities said the attack on Jazeera hotel near Mogadishu airport, which left at least 10 people wounded, has pulled down parts of the hotel, destroying vehicles and nearby houses.
Security officials said the attack was carried out by a suicide car bomber driving a truck, the first time suspected militants have used such a huge bomb in Somalia.
Many of the causalities were among guards and residents of the hotel.
Al-Shabaab Claims responsibility for the attack
