ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -A Rochester mother allegedly struck her son in the head with a hammer for assaulting his sister over the weekend.
Rochester police arrested 19-year-old Abdumelik Ali and his mother, 45-year-old Zeinab Sebriye on the 3000 block of 25th Street Northwest just after 10 p.m. Saturday.Police said Ali got in a fight over a phone charger with his 18-year-old sister and assaulted her. When Sebriye arrived home, Ali's sister told their mother what happened. Sebriye then allegedly grabbed a hammer and hit Ali in the head with it.
Police later arrested the two. Sebriye told police she was tired of her children fighting.
Ali was taken to the hospital to be evaluated.
