MOGADISHU (HOL) - - - Security sources told HOL that the assailants have taken positions inside the hotel, executing hostages and battled with security forces trying to get access into the hotel.
Ambulances transported wounded to hospitals.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing survivors jumping out of the hotel windows with some of them injured.
Al-shabab claimed the responsibility for the attack which comes barely three weeks after another deadly attack that targetted Central hotel in Mogadishu, killing at least 28 people.
Security officials tell the city residents to avoid contacting the hostages in the hotel, warning such calls bound danger to the lives of those trapped in the hotel.
