Mogadishu (HOL) - The number of reported bajaj drivers shot dead in Mogadishu has spiked recently according to drivers and officials.
A bajaj or auto rickshaw is a common form of urban transport in Mogadishu.
Residents of Wadajir district in Mogadishu reported witnessing one of these murders today by a man said to have been wearing government issued military fatigues.
Witnesses say the gunman first asked the young driver to give him a lift, the young man declined his request and was subsequently shot dead
The gunman managed to escape from the scene.
In the last few weeks, several bajaj drivers were murdered in different parts of Mogadishu.
Security forces have not yet addressed the recent killings.
