The Somali Student Day is a collaborative event put on by the Somali Student Associations of University of Toronto, York University and Ryerson University.
This event will provide Somali-Canadian high school students with the opportunity to visit the University of Toronto St. George Campus and experience a full-day in the life of a University student. Participating high school students will hear first-hand from University students about what University is really like, as they follow current University students to classes, sit-in on classes, and tour the campus.
Students will also have the opportunity to hear from University of Toronto officials about scholarships and financial aid, the grades that are needed to enter University, and the many access and outreach programs which exist to support students on their quest for further education.
If you would like to get involved as a volunteer to assist on the day of the event, please come to an information session on Tuesday, March 13th at 5pm in Room 2006, Wilson Hall, New College. The address is 40 Willcocks St. which can be accessed by taking the subway to Spadina Station, and then riding the
streetcar south past Harbord St. Tell the driver to stop at Willcocks.
