Mogadishu, Somalia (HOL) – Some senior Ministers in the Transitional Federal Government (TFG) cabinet held a press conference yesterday in the city of Baidao, which is still the temporary centre of the TFG Parliament, and accused the TFG President Mr. Abdullahi Yusuf of obstructing the reconciliation efforts between the TFG and the Opposition.

The Ministers who accused the TFG President are the Minister of Transportation Mr. Mohamed Ibrahim Habsade, the Minister of Interior Affairs and Public Safety Mr. Muse Nur Amin, and the Minister of Agriculture and Water Mr. Mustafa Duholow.

The Minister of Transportation Mr. Mohamed Ibrahim Habsade said that the TFG President has opposed the reconciliation efforts from the beginning and has been hindering progress towards reconciliation.

The Minister of Agriculture and Water Mr. Mustafa Duholow also said that the President allowed Puntland to continue its efforts to explore oil in the areas it controls while on the other hand opposing reconciliation efforts.

Finally, the Minister of Interior Affairs and Public Safety Mr. Muse Nur Amin called a sad event that some Ministers resigned citing the dismissal of Mogadishu’s former mayor as a reason but they (these Ministers and their allies) suspect that the President had something to with their resignation.
