Eleven additional charges were levelled against the woman accused in New Zealand's first aircraft hijacking attempt when she appeared Friday in a Christchurch court.
As well as charges of hijacking and stabbing two pilots and a passenger on the small commuter plane on February 8, Asha Abdille, 33, an immigrant from Somalia, now faces charges of threatening to kill, possessing an offensive weapon and taking a dangerous weapon onto an aircraft, Radio New Zealand reported.
Abdille, who was arrested after allegedly trying to hijack the plane on a scheduled flight from Blenheim to Christchurch, was remanded further in custody under the Mentally Impaired Person Act.
The three injured were treated after the attack and were recovering.
