A Louisville man has been sentenced to life without parole for killing his four children and attacking his wife.
Jefferson Circuit Judge James Shake handed down the sentence Thursday for Said Biyad, a Somali immigrant who was convicted in an April bench trial of murdering his children and assaulting his wife, according to The Courier-Journal.
Prosecutors argued that Biyad was a "possessive, angry man" who slit the throats of his children — ages 2 through 8 — following an argument with his wife in 2006.
Defense attorneys had argued that Biyad was mentally ill and not responsible for his actions.
