Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and his Kenyan counterpart Moses Wetangula discussed the latest situation in Somalia and Turkish-Kenyan relations in their meeting on Thursday.
Davutoglu had a meeting with Wetangula over lunch in Ankara.
Diplomatic officials said that Davutoglu explained his views on Somalia meeting to be held in London on February 23 and another meeting on Somalia to be held in Turkey.
Davutoglu informed Wetangula on Turkey's policy on Africa and said that they increased the number of Turkish embassies in Africa.
Turkey's assistance to Somalia was also discussed in the meeting, officials said.
Davutoglu said trade volume with Kenya has increased 115 percent in the past one year and informed Wetangula about Turkish NGOs' and Turkish embassy's works in Kenya.
Wetangula said that he would attend meetings on Somalia and appreciated Turkey's support to Somalia.
Kenya would open an embassy in Ankara soon, he said.
Meanwhile, Davutoglu also had meetings with the Secretary General of the Afghan Supreme Peace Council Masum Stanekzai and leader of the Lebanese Progressive Socialist Party Walid Canbolat.
