A Somali member of parliament wounded in Garbaharey fighting last night.A heavy fighting erupted in Garbaharey town, the headquarter of Gedo region in Somalia, after Alshabaab fighters launched a counter offensive in the town.
At least 15 people were killed and dozens injured, among them Mohamud Sayid Aden a member of the transitional federal parliament.
"Iam ok now, those who died and those who injured are the same, luckily Iam talking to you now", He told the BBC.
He didnot confirm whether he was involved in the fighting along side the TFG forces in the town or not, but he claimed victory on the war against Alshabaab.
"They attacked us and we defended the city from them". He added.
Eyewitnesses in Garbaharey say a heavily armed Alshabab fighters managed to enter the town, where most of the fighting took place last night.
The laboratory part of the hospital in the town burned to ashes after it was hit by a heavy shelling.
Some of the injuries are still being treated in the hospital.
