Mogadishu (HOL) - Somalia National Army (SNA) Commander Brigadier General Ibrahim Sheikh Muhyadiin Adow inspected the army camps in Gal’ad and El-Dheer, recently liberated districts in the Galgadud region, on Friday. This visit marks his first since assuming office last month.
During the visit, the new commander held a meeting with army commanders, urging the Somali forces on the frontline to continue their efforts in liberating the country. President Mohamud emphasized that the second phase of the government-led operation would commence in the coming weeks.
According to a statement, a total of seven bases have been handed over to Somali security forces, resulting in a reduction of 2,000 troops by the June 30 deadline.
