At least 50 al-Shabab militants killed in Jubbaland State

    Kismayo (HOL) - At least 50 al-Shabab militants have been killed, and 20 others captured alive in the fourth consecutive day of military operations carried out by the Somali army forces in the Lower Jubba region, stated Deputy Minister of Information Abdirahman Adala on Tuesday.

    The Deputy Minister did not specify casualties on their side but emphasized that many areas have been cleared of militants.

    He noted that military operations will continue until Al-Shabaab is removed from the regions in the Jubbaland administration.

    In December last year, the country's Defense Ministry reported that at least 130 al-Shabaab militants were killed during simultaneous military operations in the central province of Mudug, as well as the southern state of Jubaland.
