Garowe (HOL) – Puntland state leader Said Abdullahi Deni announced on Monday that Puntland leaders are ready to resolve the ongoing political discord with the Federal Government of Somalia, which has persisted for several months.
During his speech at the Puntland Development and Research Center (PDRC) summit, Deni warned that if political dialogue is not pursued, the country risks fragmentation, with other regions potentially declaring independence, similar to Somaliland. He emphasized the situation's urgency, noting that Puntland is prepared to lead efforts to reunite Somalia.

Deni urged conference delegates to facilitate a public forum to foster dialogue between Puntland and federal government leaders. He expressed frustration over previous private discussions that yielded no results, advocating for a more transparent and open debate."Puntland is ready to lead. We are prepared to unite Somalia by offering resources, knowledge, and financial support. We are open to any dialogue with the other side," Deni affirmed.
Tensions between Puntland and the Federal Government of Somalia have been particularly high since Deni's unsuccessful bid for the Somali Prime Ministership, according to Minister Deputy Minister of Finance Abdiqafar Elmi Hange.
