PM Hamza Abdi Barre and President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud

Somalia has remained stubbornly among the top 3 countries fragile states for the last 17 years, The African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) still there with its new name African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) a mission that began 2007 updated recently, "Adopted by the Peace and Security Council (PSC) of the African Union (AU) at its 1068th meeting held on 8 March, 2022, on the reconfiguration of the AU Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) and Resolution 2628 (2022) Adopted by the Security Council at its 9009th meeting, on 31 March 2022."

No hope completing until Somalia Parliament pass a bill with the strict date forcing them to leave the country and SNA taking very serious its duties, the so-called humanitarian agencies still squat down in the airport complex, previous administration left conundrum  and unknown status Somalia’s natural resources (Fishery (unknown agreement to The Chinese Overseas Fisheries Association (COFA)), oil and gas ( as reported Coastline Exploration has signed seven Production Sharing Agreement (PSA covering offshore, deep waters blocks), DP World’s Bosaso and Berbera, DPW world (read as UAE government) has stakes as reported 51%, Ethiopia 19% and Somalia 19% respectively, its unknown if Somalia President’s recent official visit UAE raised the issue or not.

Economic situation is very bad, as below AfDB GDP chart and Somalia’s directorate national statistics shows, ordinary Somalis are paying heavy prices for skyrocketing inflation and not to mention youth unemployment and lack of hope, the latest FGC report mentioned "FGS faced an average monthly funding deficit of US$8 Million" not only economic is in a mess, even Villa Somalia was in debt and need to repay by the current administration while Nabad iyo Nolol nowhere to be seen!

No one seems to understand what is going Somalia’s dealing with IMF, World Bank and AFDB,  last few years Nabad & Nolol party and Hassan Ali Kheire, Abdirhaman Beyle and Jamal Hassan were telling us the debt relief under highly indebted Poor Countries (HIPC) is around the corner, watching Somali Parliamentarians debating badly the recent  general allocation of SDR 456.6 billion (Equivalent to about $650 billion that was implemented and distributed on 23rd August 2021) some even called it’s a free money and was given to Somalia not aware using it we will have to pay interests, keeping it will accumulated interests! (as per Much 31 2022, Somalia’s outstanding Purchase and loan in SDR is 257.43, this equivalent $335,400, 000) add to that it’s not clear our bridge loan, Extended credit Facility (ECF), Extended Fund Facility (EFF) many of those attached or linked strings with Somalia’s National Development Plan 2020-to 2024 (the 9th NDP) and no hope seeing any benefits, even we are lucky if Somalia not became like Sri Lanka, Argentina and Pakistan where they are having difficult to serves its debts or like Argentina defaulted and paying heavy prices.

The so called National Economic Council did nothing to help the country under the leadership of Dr Ali Isse Abdi the executive Director, not sure if those advisors were paid or they did their work entirely voluntary, clearly they haven't done anything towards what they claimed few years ago they will do, in my humble opinion, it’s the time to close down that organisation unless someone can correct me what they have so far achieved or contributed.

The tasks ahead Hon Pres President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Hon PM Hamza Abdi Barre will not be easy, and we can't afford to miss (We have only one shot) and let's hope they will succeed, and help them wherever we can, regardless our political affiliation and personal ambitious and interests!
