President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed has today presented an an honorary certificate of patriotism to Dahir Abdullahi Kadiye, a Somali citizen at his palace in the capital, Mogadishu.
The president decided to reward Mr. Kadiye for the pivotal role he played in the release of Paul and Rachel Chandler, the British couple abducted by pirates off the coast of Somalia. The President thanked Mr. Kadiye and all the other people who took part in the effort to free the British couple whose yacht was hijacked by Somali pirates in the Indian ocean by Somali pirates who later let them free on ransom.

Meanwhile, President Sharif warned people who forge government documents and official letters in the name of the government will be punished in accordance with the law. He said that there were more cases of people using fake official letters and documents purportedly issued by Somali government officials.
